With less staff available to care for more patients, having
reliable and affordable remote monitoring systems can make it easier for caregivers
to evaluate and respond to a patient’s condition. VIDCO’s display
remotes are capable of recognizing all alarms, arrhythmia messages, and vital
system messages communicated from the bedside monitor. In addition, if desired,
the products have the ability to issue control commands to the bedside monitor.
Facilities
can place the remotes at any location, which makes central monitoring possible
in areas where it would be too expensive to install central stations.
Descriptions
of VIDCO’s primary products are below (NetViewer, MDP2020,
and VDA300). If you have questions or need VIDCO to develop a
customized unit for your facility, please contact
us.
NetViewer The affordable display for networked monitoring The NetViewer medical data processor can display vital signs for 1 to 16 patients
in a single unit. It is ideal for all patient care departments, and the user
can configure it to fit specific applications. The unit reads all patient information
via the network connection—the patient’s name, bed ID, discharge
and admittance status, and all available vital sign parameters, including alarm
and arrhythmia messages. Alarm and manual printing, with eight-hour trending,
are standard features. The system is Ethernet-compatible, with one-on-one patient
monitors, or it can access the entire network via a connection to a switching
hub.

MDP2020 Central station and remote display monitoring The
MDP2020 provides an affordable solution for the remote viewing of patients’ vital
signs in the ambulatory, telemetry, emergency, step-down, PACU, pre-op, and other
departments. The unit accepts analog and digital signals from patient monitoring
equipment, such as bedside monitors, defibrillators, central station monitors,
and telemetry receivers. It then processes these inputs and displays the vital
signs on a color-display screen(s). Manually initiated and alarm-initiated printing
options are available for the documentation of code events. VIDCO offers
8- and 16-bed systems.

- Atlas, all Propaqs, Encore, CS, and Quiksigns/VS
VDA300 Video distribution amplifier The VDA300 enables facilities to place
displays in hallways, patient rooms, or other departments for distributed viewing
on multiple monitors. The VDA300 video distribution amplifier is intended for
use with RGB video monitors. The unit comes with four RGB outputs, including
one loop-thru output. Additional VDA300 units can be connected, via loop-thru,
as needed. Although normally used as a unity gain amplifier, the variable gain
control compensates for nonstandard input levels and line losses. It also accommodates
a range of horizontal and vertical sync signals.
