Provides Network connectivity for up to sixteen channels of RS232 serial connected patient
monitors with serial baud rates ranging from 300 to 115.2K baud. Each TS16 port can serve up to
four clients allowing multiple hosts to access the ports data or send it data. Port status is available
in the form of broadcast packets called PORTWHATs that inform network clients of its operating
configuration. These packets provide all necessary information needed to connect to it over a
standard Ethernet channel. PORTWHAT packets are sent at a rate one each second, where all
ports are sent once every 17 seconds.
